Day 01: Delhi (Arrival)
Meet our representative at Airport who will greet you with glittering face and welcome you for your pilgrimage trip. You will be transferred to hotel for rest. Lunch, visit to Old Delhi. The places you will visit here include Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and Humayun’s Tomb. Return back to hotel for meals and overnight stay.
In case you are going to Varanasi by Train, then in the evening you will be transferred to railway station.
Day 02: Delhi- Varanasi (By Flight/ By Train)
Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to hotel, after check in at the hotel have rest and leisure activities. After rest set your foot ready to explore Varanasi. Varanasi also known as Banaras, or Kashi, is an Indian city on the banks of the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh, It is the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism, and Jainism, and played an important role in the development of Buddhism. After rest till evening set your foot ready to visit Ghats (River Banks) of River Ganga to see Aarti, there are 84 famous Ghats of river Ganga in Varanasi, on evening these Ghats present spiritual look as Aarti starts from 06:00 PM. Aarti is a Hindu religious ritual of worship, a part of puja, in which light from wicks soaked in ghee (purified butter) or camphor is offered to one or more deities. Return back for overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 03: In Varanasi (Sightseeing of Sarnath)
Early morning, around 5 AM, visit the Ghats (River Banks) of River Ganga in Varanasi and enjoy a boat ride in the River Ganges upto 84 Ghats. During boat ride you will witness feelings of devotion, nature and spirituality. Large number of people visit Ghats for morning prayers and for bath of salvation. After breakfast, drive to Sarnath, a holy city located 10 kilometers away from Varanasi. Here you will visit the Dhamek Stupa, Dharmarajika Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa, Ashoka PillarÂ and Sarnath Archeological Museum. By afternoon, return back to Varanasi. The places you will visit here include The Vishwanath Temple, The Dugra Temple and The Benaras Hindu University campus . Later, return back to the hotel for maels and overnight stay.
Day 04: Varanasi â€“ Shravasti (322 kms/ 9 hrs.)
After Checkout from Hotel, leave by road for Shravasti. Shravasti, the north-eastern town of Uttar Pradesh, is located near the West Rapti River. This town is closely associated with the life of Gautam Buddha, who is believed to have spent 24 Chaturmases here. Age-old stupas, majestic viharas and several temples near the village establish Buddha’s association with Shravasti. It is being said that the Vedic Bharat period king Sravast founded this town. Shravasti was the capital of the Kosala Kingdom during 6th century BC to 6th century AD. This prosperous trading center was well known for its religious associations. The road condition is extremely bad which lengthens the travel time. Check In Hotel. After brief rest visit Angulimala Stupa, Anathapindika’s Stupa, Kacchi Kutiya , Pacci Kutiya, Jetvana monastery and an old Jain temple.
Day 05: Shravasti â€“ Lumbini (198 kms / 04 Hrs)
After Checkout from Hotel, leave by road for Lumbini. Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 623 BCE. While entering the Border of Nepal from India, you need to register your passport details and will be provided tourist Visa after filling the requisite formalities. You have to wait further 45 minutes to 01 hour till your vehicle gets registered. After registering and completing other formalities proceed towards Lumbini . Upon arrival in Lumbini. check in to hotel for meals and overnight stay
Day 05: In Lumbini
After breakfast be ready for spiritual sightseeing tour of Lumbini that rejoices your body as well as soul. Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 623 BCE Gautama, who achieved nirvana sometime around 543 BCE, became the Lord Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism after achieving Enlightenment. Lumbini is one of many magnets for pilgrimage that sprang up in places pivotal to the life of Gautama Buddha. Lumbini has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi Temple. Lumbini was granted World Heritage status by UNESCO in 1997. The present-day Lumbini historic site is 4.8 km in length and 1.6 km in width. Visit Maya Devi temple complex, where Lord Buddha was born. Inside the temple there is marker stone, the exact birth spot of Lord Buddha. Outside the temple in garden there is Ashoka pillar, Pushkarni pond (Where Â the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath.) and Nativivity Sculpture(Image of Maya devi). After visting the spiritual places also visit The Japan Peace Stupa – the 41m imposing structure is situated at the northern end of the gardens.The Lumbini Museum displays artifacts from the Mauryan and Kushana periods, religious manuscripts and other items discovered at the site. Museum Closed on Tuesdays.The Lumbini International Research Institute (LIRI) is devoted to the study of Buddhism and other religions. It houses an extensive collection of books on religion, art and architecture. Also have a visit to market for shopping and other leisure activities, Return back to hotel for over night stay
Day 06: Lumbini â€“ Kushinagar (184 Kms / 07 Hrs)
After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed towards Kushinagar. Kushinagar, district of the eastern Uttar Pradesh, is known for its cultural heritage all over the world. It is one of the four holiest places for the Buddhists. At Kushinagar, Great Lord Buddha, founder of Buddhism, delivered his last sermon. Outside India, it is an International Buddhist Pilgrimage Centre. The followers of the Buddhism, especially from Asian Countries, wish to visit this place at least once in their lifetime. After Brief rest, go for visit Ramabhar Stupa, (Excavated Cremation site of Lord Buddha) and Government Buddha Museum. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 07: Kushinagar â€“ Vaishali (300 Kms / 07 Hrs)
After early morning breakfast, Check out from hotel and proceed towards Vaishali. Vaishali is named after king Vishal who ruled here. Lord Buddha announced his impending â€œNirvana, then in 383 BCE the Second Buddhist council was convened here by King Kalasoka, making it an important place in both Jain and Buddhist religions. It contains one of the best-preserved of the Pillars of Ashoka, topped by a single Asiatic lion. At the time of the Buddha, Vaishali, which he visited on many occasions, was a very large city, rich and prosperous, and crowded with people and with abundant food. There were 7,707 pleasure grounds and an equal number of lotus ponds.The city had three walls, each one away from the other, and at three places in the walls were gates with watch towers. Outside the town, leading uninterruptedly up to the Himalaya, was the Mahavana, a large, natural forest. The main places of interest are Vishwa Shanti StupaÂ also known as World Peace Pagoda built by Japanese. Abishek pushkarni,Buddha Relic Stupa,Vaishali Museum and Khoura Pokar Lake.Overnight stay in hotel
Day 08: Vaishali- Nalanda- Rajgir â€“ Bodhgaya (180 Kms / 04 HRS )
After Check out from Hotel, leave by road for Bodhgaya. On the way visit Nalanda and explore the ruins of Indiaâ€™s ancient university. Nalanda was an acclaimed MahÄvihÄra, a large Buddhist monastery in ancient Magadha (modern-day Bihar), India. The site is located about 95 kilometres southeast of Patna, and was a centre of learning from the fifth century CE to c.â€‰1197 CE. Historians often characterize Nalanda as a university. Nalanda flourished under the patronage of the Gupta Empire as well as emperors like Harsha and later, the rulers of the Pala Empire.At its peak, the school attracted scholars and students from as far away as Tibet, China, Korea, and Central Asia.After visiting ruins of ancient Nalanda visit majestic archeological museum.
The next visiting place is Rajgir only 30 minutes drive. The Lord Budha often came here to retreat at the Jivkamaravana monastery in a beautiful orchid. Chair Lift facility is available from base to Hilltop where monastery is located. It goes up to the elevation of 1200 feet and is a ride of 08 minutes.After sightseeing of Rajgir proceed towards Bodhgaya. Bodhgaya is place where the Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment under the Bodi tree. tree. Depart early in the morning as you have to cross a vital bridge Sanjay Gandhi Setu in Hajipur area. The bridge witnesses heavy traffic jam.
Day 09: In Bodhgaya
After breakfast , visit Mahabodi Temple complex ,where the Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment under the Bodi tree. The magnificent Mahabodhi Temple is an architectural amalgam of Many Centuries, cultures and Heritages. Inside the premises of Mahabodhi temple, there is the meditation park,macalinda Sarover, Butter Lamp House and Animera Locana.Â Meditation Park,Â where you can meditate for seeking inner peace. Macalinda Sarover , where the serpent King Muchalinda, dwelling at the bottom of the lake rose out to protect Lord Buddha from Severe storm created by Maya (Goad of Choas) to disturb the meditation. Butter Lamp House,Â Â Animera Locana, Post sightseeing,have a visit to local market for leisure activities, return back to the hotel for night stay.
Day 10: Bodhgaya â€“ Delhi (By Flight/ By Train)
After Early breakfast, Check out and proceed to Delhi either by flight or train. Overnight stay in Hotel at Delhi
Day 11: In DelhiÂ (Local Sightseeing)
After Early breakfast, go out for full day sightseeingÂ tour of New Delhi,explore the attractions in New Delhi such as India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, President House and Qutab Minar. Over night stay in Hotel
Day 12: Departure
After Early breakfast, Check out from hotel and you will be transferred to Delhi Airport to board further flight.
